Hey Springfield girl

So it's fall, and for me that means it's time to bust out the 18" girls and start sewing again! I haven't done much sewing this year (before this I've sewn all of three outfits for this year). These patterns came from the Liberty Jane which I bought like a year ago... it was nice to finally make something again after all this time (although I really should have used green thread on those pants- but I didn't have any).

I had another Doll Salad Blog, but I can't find the email address it was attached to, so I'm going to use this one for now.

  1. Hi mrsmarks, very cute outfit. I'm a big Springfield Doll fan and your Olivia doll looks great. For someone whose only sewn 3 outfits, you sure seem to know what you're doing. The cherry print for the top is very playful and it's the perfect scale for the doll too. Do you sew for other size dolls or do you prefer 18-inch?

    1. Hi Miss Maggie, thank you so much! I used to sew for ball jointed dolls (all by hand), but I've gotten out of touch with dolls over the last couple years... so I'm getting back into things. I meant to say I've only done three others this year (sorry about that). I find these dolls to be the perfect size to work with.

    2. You've obviously got a talent for it. I agree, these dolls are very satisfying to sew for, the size is big enough to easy to turn the seams and hems, but small enough to be comfortable in your hands and to use relatively small quantities of fabric.

I went for a decade without sewing or playing with my dolls when my boys were small. One of the best things about them becoming teenagers was that they were independent enough that I could get back into my dolls again. There's just something so relaxing and enjoyable about them. :-)
